Four Year Old Program

Eligibility

Children can be enrolled in our four year old program in the year prior to school attendance, if they turn four years of age before the 30th April. Families of children whose fourth birthday falls in the months of January to April are encouraged to speak with staff about when they plan to send their child to kindergarten. Children normally receive one year of funded kindergarten. A second funded year may be available if children have two areas of developmental delay and it is believed that a second year of kindergarten will be of benefit to them.
Children will need to have an up to date Immunisation History Statement.
See www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/enablers/immunisation-history-statement to see how to get your child’s statement

To Apply

In the Banyule City Council, four year old enrolments for all kindergartens are administered under a Central Enrolment System run by the council. Enrolment forms are available from Maternal & Child Health Centres, Banyule City Council, our kindergarten and by clicking on the following link:  .CD9664 Kindergarten Registration Form

Upon completion, they are to be sent to the Banyule City Council Preschool Enrolment Officer whose address is on the form.

Families are able to register their child from the first business day in March, two years before the year their child is eligible to attend.

Note: Attendance in our three year old program does not give automatic entry to our four year old program. Separate enrolment is required for four year old kindergarten through Banyule City Council.
