Four Year Old Program
Eligibility
Children can be enrolled in our four year old program in the year prior to school attendance, if they turn four years of age before the 30th April. Families of children whose fourth birthday falls in the months of January to April are encouraged to speak with staff about when they plan to send their child to kindergarten. Children normally receive one year of funded kindergarten. A second funded year may be available if children have two areas of developmental delay and it is believed that a second year of kindergarten will be of benefit to them.
Children will need to have an up to date Immunisation History Statement.
See: www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/enablers/immunisation-history-statement to find out how to obtain a copy of your child’s statement.
To Apply
Applications for 4 year old Kindergarten in Banyule Council are made online. Families are able to register their child from the first business day in March, the year before a child is eligible to attend. Please follow this link for more information:
https://www.banyule.vic.gov.au/Community-services/Kindergarten-services/4-yr-old-kinder-registration
Note: Attendance in our three year old program does not give automatic entry to our four year old program. Separate enrolment is required for four year old kindergarten through Banyule Council.
